Scholarships

The Government of India provides various scholarships for students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and Economically Weaker Sections. These scholarships aim to support the education of deserving students and promote inclusive academic growth.

The following scholarships are available to eligible students:

1. IRDP Scholarship
2. District Soldier Board Scholarship
3. Maharishi Valmiki Scholarship
4. Kalpana Chawla Scholarship Scheme
5. Minority Scholarships

Details of Various Scholarship Schemes

CENTRAL SPONSORED SCHEMES

1. Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC/ST/OBC Students
Students with an annual family income less than ₹2,50,000 (for SC/ST) and ₹1,00,000 (for OBC) are eligible. The scholarship includes a maintenance allowance of ₹300 per month for SC/ST and ₹250 for OBC students, along with other compulsory fees.

2.Dr. Ambedkar Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for Economically Backward Classes (General Category Students)
Eligible for students from economically backward general category families with income less than ₹1,00,000. It offers a maintenance allowance of ₹210 per month along with other compulsory fees.

3. Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Scheme for Minority Community Students
This scheme is for students from minority communities whose family income is less than ₹2,00,000 and who have secured at least 50% marks in the previous qualifying examination. It includes a maintenance allowance of ₹500 per month (maximum ₹5,000) and a course fee of up to ₹20,000 or the actual fee, whichever is less.

4. Post Matric Scholarship Scheme to Students Belonging to Minority Community
Students with a family income below ₹2,00,000 and who have secured at least 50% marks are eligible. The benefits include a maintenance allowance of ₹300 per month and admission/tuition fees subject to a maximum limit of ₹3,000 per annum.

Dr. Ambedkar Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNTs)For students from these communities with income below ₹2,00,000. They are eligible for a maintenance allowance of ₹300 per month, subject to a maximum ceiling of ₹3,000 per annum.

STATE SPONSORED SCHEMES

1. Indira Gandhi Utkrisht Chhatravritti Yojna for Post Plus Two Students 
No income limit is applicable. This scholarship is awarded to the top 10 male toppers of the Plus Two HPBOSE exam from Arts, Commerce & Science streams, and top 10 male and female toppers of BA/B.Sc./B.Com from HPU. It provides ₹10,000 per annum, subject to maintaining at least 55% marks in the subsequent class.

2. Kalpana Chawla Chhatravritti Yojna 
Awarded to the top 2000 meritorious girls from the 10+2 examination of Science, Arts, and Commerce from HPBOSE. There is no income limit. Recipients receive ₹15,000 per annum till the completion of the course.

3. Maharishi Valmiki Chhatravritti Yojna 
For bonafide Himachali girl students belonging to Balmiki families involved in unclean occupations. The scholarship provides ₹9,000 per annum till the course is completed.

4. IRDP Scholarship Scheme 
Students from families categorized under the IRDP (Integrated Rural Development Programme) are eligible. They receive ₹1,200 per annum till the completion of the course.

5. Financial Assistance to the Children of the Armed Forces For children of family personnel who were killed or disabled during war/operations. Eligible students receive ₹1,200 per annum till the completion of the course.

● Matriculation certificate
● Category certificate
● Himachali bonafide certificate
● Certificate of the previous passed examination
● Bank account details (first page of account passbook for female applicants)
● Parents’/Guardian’s income certificate
● Aadhaar card
● Renewal applicants must attach the previous year’s scholarship amount received
● Free receipt of 1st Semester/1st Year
● Bank account details and student’s signature on plain paper
● Parent’s signature on plain paper
